Charlie Evans, Welsh Conservative candidate for Llanelli in the General Election, has blasted Plaid Cymru's record in the Cooperation Agreement with Welsh Labour, as it formally ended the agreement on Friday.
"It is welcome that Plaid Cymru has withdrawn from the Cooperation Agreement with Welsh Labour. This is the most toxic Labour Government to preside over Wales since devolution started, with the stench of Vaughan Gething's dirty donation money distracting them from the day-to-day issues that face the people of Wales.
"Plaid Cymru enabled the disastrous 20mph speed limit rollout. They signed up to the Sustainable Farming Scheme, which caused untold stress and misery to farmers. And they've rammed through anti-democratic changes to the Senedd, taking power away from voters, and handing it to the political parties.
"The voters of Llanelli and Wales will not forget this. Labour and Plaid Cymru are cut from the same cloth. And let's not forget, Sir Keir Starmer said Wales is his 'blueprint' for Government in Westminster.
Charlie also said voters need to look closer to home, on the decisions made by the the local Plaid-run Carmarthenshire Council.
"Despite repeated promises, Plaid has just scrapped plans to build a new special school for Ysgol Heol Goffa in Llanelli. Whilst budgets are stretched and money needs to be prioritised, I can't think of any greater priority for local government than ensuring disadvantaged pupils get access to the best facilities available.
"And the Plaid Council's planning guidance and pension arrangements are enabling big energy companies to industrialise the countryside with massive pylons, with residents in Llandyfaelog particularly bearing the brunt of it.
"It's time to put Llanelli first."
